Hand wash with mild soap .

After 1st wash buff with fine

steel wool or Scotch Brite pad to remove the microscopic wood fiber that raises when washed the first few times. This process restores the original smoothness.

Periodically rub with food

Safe oil. (Extra virgin olive oil) or (mineral oil) Allow to soak in. Wipe away excess.

 
Please do not place in the dishwasher. The detergent contains bleach and that will break down the wood fibers. The worst is the dry cycle. When the spoons are used with liquid they will swell a small amount and when they are dried rapidly they can crack.
